Ruinart Champagne’s Newest MasterpieceJuxtapoz // Wednesday, 23 Jul 2014
Ruinart, the world's oldest champagne house, invited Georgia Russell, a Scottish artist who now lives and works in France, to create on their latest Masterpiece. Ruinart collaborates with international artists in the creation of new works, as well as partners in some of the most prestigious art fairs worldwide. Russell, known for her unique technique of transforming and shaping paper, chose to work on one of Ruinart’s most precious relics, the 1729 book containing the Ruinart’s founding act and early achievements, written by no other than Nicolas Ruinart the founder of the venerable House. Based on a facsimile of the book that was given to Russell, she then went on to painstakingly carve this Masterpiece.
