“Beat Bop” appeared in the legendary graffiti film Style Wars, which helped Rammellzee gain notoriety. It went on to become one of the most sought-after rap records of the early '80s and was later re-released by the Profile label.

Born 1960 in Far Rockaway, Queens, New York Rammellzee's graffiti and art work are based on his theory of Gothic Futurism, which describes the battle between letters and their symbolic warfare against any standardizations enforced by the rules of the alphabet.

Details of the cause of death are still emerging.
