Preview: HERBERT BAGLIONE “OBITUARY” @ BOGOTÁ MUSEUM OF CONTEMPORARY ART
Juxtapoz // Friday, 06 Jul 2012Sao Paulo, Brazil-based fine artist, and cover of our 2009 Brazil issue, Herbert Baglione, will be opening a museum exhibition at the Bogota Museum of Contemporary Art in Colombia tomorrow, July 7. The exhibition, Obituary, will feature a series of paintings and installations, as well as Baglione recreating the drawings he did as a 3-year old of illustrating simple interventions over family photographs.
Herbert Baglione’s Obituary show is a ceremony of dispossession, uprooting and resignation; the circular space of the museum will be intervened with paintings in situ, installations, atmospheres and photography carefully chosen by the artist inviting the viewer to be a part of his “Obituary.”
In this exhibit Herbert Baglione aims to bury a series of life experiences that have been the inspiration for his previous works to begin a new series of life experiences in an effort to find a fresh focus for his artistic process and vision.
