Revel & Riot shop in San Francisco

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, 21 Jun 2011

Graphic designer and artist Emy Storey, probably best known for her album cover art for bands like Tegan and Sara and Death Cab for Cutie, is setting up her Revel & Riot shop in San Francisco for Pride week. Together with painter Shannon Gillette, R&R hosts an exhibit Thursday, June 23, of large scale paintings featuring some of their most striking graphics at SF’s Brick and Mortar Music Hall in support LGBTQ rights, awareness, and equality through art, graphics, new media, and writing. A web-based shop and resource destination, Storey and Fobes create a new dialogue around the fight for LGBTQ equality through art giving the movement’s traditional imagery a makeover. “

“Wear a clever shirt that addresses a serious topic, and people take notice and come forward to engage,” Storey and Fobes said. “Our shirts are about pride, humor, and education.”

All artwork is available for sale, while a Revel & Riot pop-up shop will be open, and DJs and special guests appearances included. Hmmm, give ya buck to guess. Only one.
