R. Crumb "Kafka" at Tony Shafrazi Gallery

Juxtapoz // Thursday, 12 May 2011

For some of you, including ourselves, putting Kafka and R. Crumb's names in the same header is reason to be excited, with or without an exhibition at Tony Shafrazi Gallery in NYC. But the latter is true, with Kafka's life as well as his most famous stories including "Metamorphosis" and "The Trial," are told through Crumb's pen & ink drawings.

The exhibition Kafka comes from the collaborative drawings of Crumb and authored text of David Zane Mairowitz from a book they did of the same name. This exhibition is being shown at the same Shafrazi Gallery shows two other great shows, Revolutionary Film Posters: Aesthetic Experiments of Russian Constructivism, 1920-33 and VLADIMIR TATLIN
