"Outside In: The Story of Art In the Streets" at Egyptian Theatre, May 24

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, 18 May 2011

While we were watching the build-up on the ground at MOCA's "Art In the Streets" exhibition last month, we saw director Alex Stapleton hard at work, documenting the entire process with her film crew, all culminating in "Outside In: The Story of Art In the Streets" made in partnership with Levi's Film Workshop.

We were fortunate enough to catch a clip of Stapleton's doc this afternoon, and there are some great moments with Invader, Risk, Revok, Retna, CR Stecyk III, Jeffrey Deitch, Martha Cooper, Henry Chalfant, LEE, ESPO, and many others who came together to make not just the exhibition, but the installation set-ups and build up a special process to see unfold.

There is going to be a world premiere of "Outside In: The Story of Art In the Streets", with a Q&A with Stapleton, at the Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles this next Tuesday, May 24 at 8PM. We will host a trailer in the coming days.
