Photos: Nike's RE-RUN Miami

Juxtapoz // Friday, 14 Dec 2007
On December 7th, 2007, NIKE in conjunction with NADA and ANP Quarterly presented RE-RUN Miami, a contemporary installation that celebrated the renegade spirit and energy of running in the 1970s.

Curated by Aaron Rose, graphics by Keith Scharwath, the interactive installation was set within a three-dimensional wooden modular structure, and based on alternative architecture from the 70s. RE-RUN was composed of over 300 panels featuring vintage Nike Running images juxtaposed with photography, graphics and a series of specially commissioned artworks created by Scott Campbell, Tracy Nakayama, Andrew Jeffrey Wright, Kime Buzzelli, Steven Harrington, Jessi Spears, E-Rock, Mike Pare, Jo Ratcliff, and Alexis Ross. Created to revisit an era gone by, but presented in a modern context, the installation encouraged looking back in order to move forward, but never forgetting that sometimes the simplest actions can change the world for the better.

RE-RUN Miami was the fourth and final stop on the RE-RUN tour, having been presented in Brooklyn, L.A. and Portland, OR earlier this year. Reported attendees include Neck Face, A-Ron, Eric White, Tim Biskup, Ron English, Mark Ryden, Marion Peck, Erik Foss, David Choe, Cheryl Dunn, Maya Hayuk, Retna, Kelsey Brookes, Paper Magazine publisher David Hershkovitz, Mars-1, Naomi Harris, Weezer's Brian Bell, and Scott Campbell. Now, can you spot your favorite?
