Diversity, and the strength that it can give to an artist's collective work, is a precarious thing. Some artists try to broaden their abilities in an honest effort to expand. Some can pull it off and their innate talent transverses mediums. Ms. Hayuk is one such artist and this show was a nice reminder that there are still some artists who shine in multiple crafts. The only comment I would make is that some of the pieces appeared a little rushed. But given the number of pieces and their obvious time consuming appearance you can forgive her for feeling the pressure. Other than that, the content and presentation of the art was great. As always, it's best to see work in person, so I suggest you go see this if you live in the San Francisco Bay Area. While you're there, you can pick up Maya's beautiful new book, Just Good Vibes which is also featured at the gallery.

Maya lays down a solid foundation of Chex Mix before an evening of wine and spirits begins.
