Paper-Maché Books by Jean LoweJuxtapoz // Tuesday, 23 Aug 2011
Jean Lowe's work humorously comments on our place in consumer culture. It asks the viewer to reevaluate our place, our habits, and the overwhelming influx of products that we consume at a equally overwhelming rate. Here we have Lowe's collection of paper-maché books that joke about the many absurd social phenomenon and self-help books that seem too good to be true. Our favorites are the flowery cover of The History of Genital Warts and the monster truck-adorned Hormones and Behavior.
