Paintings by Zhao Jinhe

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, 05 Aug 2014

Zhao Jinhe was born and raised in China. His work addresses the dramatic shifts in culture the country is experiencing, the materiality of the modern world clashing with traditional values. Jinhe situates himself in the midst of this conflict by painting himself clothed in the pajamas of a mental patient. In his work he references both AK47s and Zen Buddhist painting.
