Paintings by Ariel Wilson

Juxtapoz // Thursday, 17 Nov 2011

Ariel Wilson is a San Diego-based artist and recent graduate from UC San Diego. Her work builds up varying layers of opacity and translucence pulling the viewer in with varying degrees of detail and clarity. Inspired by memory, storytelling, and genealogy, she creates fictional folktales and mini-histories that draw from found objects and details of the everyday, revealing secrets through her own visual language that aims to create curiosity in the viewer and to heighten the intimacy one feels with the work.
