Ahmed Alsoudani's paintings are immersed in the surreal, compiling fractured images from fleshy masses with inorganic forms, yielding a psychologically unsettling image that borders on comparison with Picasso's Guernica as a response to the "psychological repercussions" of warfare. Alsoudani, coming from an Iraqi-American background, has plenty to investigate in this field.
