The application of excessive force against "Occupy" movements is a sad comment on the current political climate of the United States. As long as you trumpet your support for free market capitalism, you can make all the
violent threats you like and
even carry weaponry. It also seems to help if your participants
skew older & whiter. A lot of people complain that the
Occupy movements doesn't articulate their message well enough; perhaps some
Koch funded message-discipline could fix that.

In a city which endured a great deal of turmoil around the
Oscar Grant shooting and the subsequent madness of the Mehserle trial, excessive force by the police is no minor issue. Occupy Oakland is inviting members of the community to come to the public library at 4PM today to demonstrate "support to reoccupy" and urge concerned citizens to call 510-268-7777 and demand cite and release for those arrested in this morning's raid. A protest is
currently underway at the jail at 7th and Washington.
