Dioramas of any kind really make us pay attention, and perhaps that is because it brings out the grade school in all of us. NYC-based Yumiko Matsui has made the grandest of dioramas, an entire Japanese city created in a mini-paper version. Not only does she create the busy advertising and bustling skylines, she even creates the illuminated night billboards. Matsui says of the paper works: "If you had ever been to any of the cities I have created in miniature, you might actually feel sentimental! If you have never been to these cities, I want to give you a preparatory experience!" (via)
Our favorite part? These were created with the simplest of materials: colored paper and glue. Perfect.
