Matthew Brandt: Lakes, Trees and HoneybeesJuxtapoz // Monday, 18 Mar 2013
Last year, photographer Matthew Brandt had an exhibition at NYC's Yossi Milo Gallery entitled Lakes, Trees and Honeybees. Whether soaking prints in water from the subject lake or printing on paper that the artist made from a tree, Brandt creates his prints using physical elements from the subject itself. The artist is inspired by landscape photography of the American West - especially its correlation to the methods of printing and making images during photography's infancy in the mid-nineteenth century. We recently saw Mike Brodie's show at Yossi Milo Gallery and love their roster!
