San Francisco staples Kyle Ranson and Sara Thustra will be heading East to Brookyln for a showing at Cinders Gallery on June 4, 2011. The name of the show is best of 2011, maybe ever: Shit. Free Art n Good Times. Couldn't have named any better ourselves.

Cinders describes Ransons' work as "lush, dense, and painterly, at times even quite classical in composition." You can see his work below.

As for Thustra, she uses "bright colors to draw you in to his world, with layers of patterns and recurring imagery of horses, tents, rainbows, ships, and flags."

In our opinion, this is a good representation of strong San Francisco art. The last time we saw Ranson's work it was at Needles and Pens here in SF, when he collaborated with Dan Higgs, and the show was acquired by the Berkeley Art Museum.
