Kanye West to Play MoMA's Party in the Garden Benefit this Month

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, 03 May 2011

This is a two-way street of good decisions: the Museum of Modern Art and Kanye West have teamed up for pop-superstar Mr. West to play perform at their annual Party in the Garden benefit taking place on May 10, 2011 in the MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden.

Why is this a two-way street of good decision making? It's not as if Kanye West is not tapped into contemporary and fine art at the moment, collaborating with Takashi Murakami, KAWS, Vanessa Beecroft, and most recently, Marco Brambilla and George Condo on the imagery of his entire public persona. And the grandest of all modern institutions, the MoMA gets a major attraction and attention from younger patrons to raise funds and continue to acquire and exhibit the best of modern art.
