Join Art for Education in Re:Form School, Submissions OpenJuxtapoz // Tuesday, 28 Sep 2010
Artists, grass roots activists, performers, celebrity guests, art collectors, musicians, public officials and the general public will display their works or show support at the Re:Form School Gallery in New York City. Re:Form School will be taking over the entirety of the recently closed St. Patrick's School in SoHo, which is one of the oldest schools in Manhattan.
In an effort to invite artists from around the United States to join the call to action, Re:Form School has also created an Online Art Contest.
Submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges from the arts and education fields, including Russell Simmons (Def Jam Records), Shepard Fairey (Artist), Rosario Dawson (actress), Annelle Miller (Dir., Society of Illustrators), Davis Guggenheim (Director, "Waiting for Superman"), Wendy Kopp (Founder, Teach for America), Robert Lynch(CEO & President, Americans for the Arts) and Brett Littman (Exec. Dir., The Drawing Center).
5 Grand Prize winning artists will have their work hang with nationally recognized artists at the Gallery space. 30 Second Prize winners will be selected to join the online exhibition. Submissions will be accepted through September 30th, 2010.
Re:Form School will be open to the public, Saturday, October 9th, 2010 through Monday, October 11th, 2010 between the hours of 10:00am - 6:00pm
