In L.A.: Studio Visit with Tim BiskupJuxtapoz // Thursday, 26 Sep 2013
With Tim Biskup’s latest solo show coming up this Saturday, September 28th at Martha Otero Gallery in Los Angeles, we were invited to stop by the artist's studio for a sneak peek at what he has been working on for the past few months! Watching an already talented and skilled artist like Tim grow and develop throughout the years he never seizes to amaze me, the same goes for this new body of work. We hope you enjoy the photos from our visit. We’re really looking forward to this exhibition; it’s definitely one not to miss! —Amy Duran
Tim Biskup was born in Santa Monica, California in 1967. His experience designing and producing toys has greatly influenced his body of work over the last two decades. His melodic paintings are sourced from a lifelong fascination with punk rock and experimental music, creating toys and illustrations inspired by Japanese 'Kaiju' (so-called 'strange' characters), and working in animation with Cartoon Network, Nickelodeon and Disney. Biskup has produced his own limited edition prints, vinyl figures, books, records and other aesthetic objects.
