This past Saturday, I stopped by the opening reception for Barbara Kruger’s solo exhibition at L&M Arts in Venice, Ca. This is Kruger’s first exhibit in Los Angeles since 1999, and it was a packed house. The West Gallery is wrapped in Kruger’s signature bold, gigantic white and black text focusing on money, power and desire. In the East Gallery is Kruger’s multi-channel video installation The Globe Shrinks. Following are a few images from the opening reception, however this is an exhibit you should really try to stop by and see in person to experience the full power of Kruger’s work.
