Herakut Gets Philosophical in New WorkJuxtapoz // Wednesday, 13 Jan 2010
Herakut (Juxtapoz #97) have enjoyed tremendous success the past few years and with due cause: their collaborative works are intensely meaningful and it only seems to be getting better. When female half of Herakut, Hera, last stopped by the Juxtapoz office a few months ago, she mentioned she wanted to start incorporating goldfish into work.
Deeply philosophical, Hera sees fish as representing ones inner psyche (as the symbol for psychology is the fish). Her freeform, scratchy style combined with Akut’s photorealistic faces make for hauntingly beautiful work.
