Barry Mcgee Stirring Up Opinions in Sydney

Graffiti // Thursday, September 29, 2011
Once again Barry Mcgee’s large tag wall stirs up controversy, this time in Sydney.  The City Council of Sydney is being accused of vandalism after commissioning McGee to be a part of the Art & About festival takes art out of the gallery setting and into the streets of Sydney.  Mcgee was given permission and $15,000 of local council funding to paint the two walls.  As usual, everyone has an opinion to whether or not it is actually “art”.

Not A Good Look

Graffiti // Thursday, September 29, 2011
Reason number 319675245 why most graffiti writers don’t like street art.  How many walls are there in Los Angeles County?  It’s baffling why people fight over legal walls or go over others that have acquired the permission to paint the wall in the first place.  This was a large, cheerful collaboration between Rime, Askew, Vans, Revok, Deus, Dabs & Myla, Score, and Witness.  Power washer time?
