Tonight, in Vancouver, British Columbia, “Keep it Kooky” opens with new installations from Kaput (Who was featured in our September 2011 printed issue) and Crums, with additional artwork from Cameo, Ben One, Wars, Admit, Oaph Ache, Noway and more. Things start late at 10pm and go all night with DJ’s, booze, and all the stuff that is associated with having a good time aka party.

The influx of graffiti writers traveling to Detroit to leave their mark is evident. Hundreds of names cover the streets making it increasingly more difficult to stand out. One name that dominates the landscape and is actually a native to these parts is Elmer. This new video follows him around Detroit as he drinks Hennessy, paints a number of spots (even in a snowstorm), and gets some unwanted attention from the police. Shot in black and white with a good choice in music for setting the mood.

Remember when graffiti videos were shot on lo-fi VHS tapes, were extra shaky and wouldn’t possibly have anything but Hip Hop as a soundtrack? Do you miss that? We actually kinda do, but videos like this make it easy to forget! Watch as Sofles goes to town in this massive warehouse with Selina Miles filming, giving the viewers something exceptionally different from your average graff vid. Bassnector soundtrack included and definitely fits the mood.
