Grady Gordon “Birth of Namahage” at Pure Evil Gallery, LondonJuxtapoz // Tuesday, 05 Jul 2011
Pure Evil Gallery presents “Birth of Namahage”, new monotype prints by Grady Gordon. As the gallery states, “In his fifth series of monotype prints, Grady Gordon examines the 'Namahage,' an elusive member of the Japanese Yokai, an amalgamation of various monsters and myths. In Western culture, the Namhage is equivalent to the boogeyman.” Accompanying Grady’s one of a kind works on paper will be a limited edition zine. If you find yourself in London Thursday, be sure to check out this impressive new series in person.
