CONVERSE Inc. announced today their newest footwear collab will be with the band Gorillaz to drop in February 2012. The iconic Chuck Taylor All Star will come decorated with the band's legendary graphic images, designed by award-winning designer and Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett utilizing exclusive prints incorporating elements from their artwork. The partnership includes a Converse "Three Artists. One Song" music collaboration that will coincide with the launch of the collection.

Created as an opportunity for three distinct artists from different backgrounds to co-create an original new song, "Three Artists. One Song" has recently seen pop duo MATT & KIM, Soulja Boy, and singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist ANDREW W.K, who come together to create an original song made available for fans for free.

"To converse: the exchange of thoughts, feelings or ideas,
that's what Gorillaz are all about," Gorillaz' drummer Russel Hobbs said, "working and collaborating and exchanging ideas with other artists and global communicators. We've been trading in ideas and conversing with one another for 10 years. So I couldn't think of a better bunch of people to help celebrate our decade in the business than the good people over at the Converse shoe company. Plus I've been wearing my Chuck Taylor's since forever."

Four different looks inspired by the band rework the classic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette. The military inspired camouflage print, taken from the cover of their self-titled debut, is the signature collection design (sneak peaked here). As of February 2012, get yours at Converse.com.

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of their self-titled debut album, Gorillaz are widely recognized for creating a new genre of music while redefining the concept of a band. With a unique sound that brought together alternative rock, hip hop, electronic and pop music, the band implemented fresh ideas from their limitless fictional universe and have sold over 15 million records worldwide to date. On November 28, they will release the long-awaited Singles Collection: 2001-2011, celebrating a decade together.

Gorillaz and Converse will host a Gorillaz Sound System evening at the legendary 100 Club in London, UK
to celebrate the shoe release on Thursday, December 1. Fully endorsed by Gorillaz, Gorillaz Sound System is a unique audio-visual experience, featuring music, live percussion and special projections. Get to London and Converse.co.uk or Gorillaz.com for  ticket info.
