Zio Ziegler has a busy weekend. If you so happen to live in Northern California, you can make it a Zio weekend. As we first noted, Zio has an opening at Jules Maeght Gallery in San Francisco on March 6. Now on March 7, at the great Proof Lab shop in Mill Valley, California, Zio and Vans will have a  shoe release party with live music by The Strange Land, a BBQ, and skating. And because we don't have winters in Northern California anymore, it will be a lovely day for a BBQ.

Alexis Anne Mackenzie "Multiverse" @ Eleanor Harwood Gallery, San Francisco http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/alexis-anne-mackenzie-multiverse-eleanor-harwood-gallery-san-francisco http://www.juxtapoz.com/current/alexis-anne-mackenzie-multiverse-eleanor-harwood-gallery-san-francisco Alexis Anne Mackenzie
Alexis Anne Mackenzie's new show Multiverse explores how minor fluctuations in circumstance, or a slight rearrangement of the same elements, can create a wholly different entity. The term Multiverse is the blanket term for parallel universe theories. Most of Mackenzie's work over the past year has investigated living a sort of double or split life. The new direction in her work started with "Synthesis": her project-space show at EHG less than a year ago. We are delighted to be showing more of her new works.

Strictly through the use of her camera and with no digital manipulation, Zankoul creates dreamlike images where water is used to depict contrasting characteristics of the characters she photographs...

This is my studio in what is now called East Williamsburg, where I have been for about two and a half years. I really like the studio, and before this spot, I was in a space shared with about five other people. It was always hard to tell that so many people were in there since we were so crammed in, and I had no windows in and around my 10’ x 10’ nook...
