Fantasy Worlds by James McCarthy

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, 27 Jun 2012

James McCarthy has a wild imagination, one that he has high command over and can spill out into his artwork. The artist creates highly detailed, surreal universes that look like carnivals on distant planets. Where Dali meets science fiction... as McCarthy mentions on his site, "I like to draw and paint spontaneous surreal biomorphic shapes but the landscape is just as important to me. Depicting weather, time of day and especially seasons gives the painting a mood that one can empathize with."
