Escif and San in Death Valley, California

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, 14 Jun 2011

We just got these photos sent to us, of Spanish artists San and Escif painting a discarded something in Death Valley, California. The two have been on tour throughout California and further south, hitting Los Angeles, Death Valley, the Salton Sea, and they have even got themselves into Colorado Canyon, Arizona.

You can follow both artists on their travel blog, as they are painting along the way, building a body of work, and taken photographs, all it seems to be leading up to their show, See You In Croatan, in San Francisco at FIFTY24SF Gallery on June 30, 2011. They are calling it the San & Escif Road Show.

As the Gallery notes, this "is an experimental research project which will cross the lives and experiences of two friends in a random road trip across the west coast of the United States. As far away as possible from doctrines, imperialisms and linear reasoning. Searching for beauty in errors and fortuitous tools. Working with intuition and hazard; trying to light relations, transitions and processes; working with research as the way itself; understanding chaos as an ideal space for creation."
