David Begbie is an internationally reknowned sculptor who creates bodies from woven metal mesh or panel that create an incredibly lifelike phenomenon of shadow-play. His structures have an astounding physical presence, more ethereal than any solid form and more structured and authoritative than the diaphanous material itself. Having mastered such a unique medium, he is able to evoke the nuances of the organic body with an entirely incongruous material.

Dustin Bennett Photography

Erotica // Tuesday, January 28, 2014
Dustin Bennett is a Bay Area photographer whose aim is to create photos that will make the viewer do a double take. He approaches erotic photography with as much levity as he does seriousness, seeing the body as both sacred and universal. Bennett grew up religious in Oklahoma City but shed his religion upon moving out at the age of 16. He continues to use spirituality to fuel his art direction, channeling it into a message-based approach to erotica. He takes inspiration from Aleister Crowley, who claims that "the sexual act is a sacrament of will. To profane it is the great offense. All true expression of it is lawful all suppression or distortion is contrary to the law of liberty." Bennett incorporates masks into his photos in order to make his subjects more relatable, saying that "it makes both the photo and the experience more intimate."

Rosanna Jones is a 19 year old fashion photographer and mixed media artist from Buckinghamshire. She is currently a student at Falmouth University, studying fashion photography. These mixed media creations combine the tactility of paint with the immediacy of the photographic image, putting painting and photos in conversation over the topic of human skin. The warping motion of the photographed hands blend seamlessly into the fields of color, creating a sensation of bodily flux.
