McAdoo spent several years in the cartoon and comic business before deciding to leave the industry and begin his own line of dangerously seductive art, depicting unconventional yet classically-inspired modern day pin-ups.

In 1989 he relocated to Rochester, New York, where he received a degree from RIT in professional photographic illustration.
