There has been a buzz recently surrounding the embroidery work of Cayce Zavaglia, which is done in a hyper-realistic form with incredible layered detail. Using crewel embroidery wool, the American artist has taken the qualities of oil painting by mixing her thread colors to mimic brushstrokes. Stunning works.

So far, she has created 14 portraits... we look forward to the next 14.
