The mural they are currently working on is the largest Shepard Fairey/OBEY mural completed to date, focusing on the theme of rebellion and rejection of conformity on a grand scale.
The entire OBEY team on hand have been working on the piece for the past 2 days. The words in progress will spell out “Don’t believe the hype.” A commentary on Shepard’s widely publicized legal matters or an overarching statement about society?
In either case, the piece is looking pretty stunning with two massive figures (one man, one woman) painted in his signature black and red, with layered collages wheatpasted on the sides
