We love a good cause, especially something involving animals and contemporary art. Los Angeles based charity, PAWS/LA, an organization that assists the disabled and senior citizens in keeping their pets, invited some of the most iconic names in contemporary art to contribute their own design of the standard "dog bowl," all heading to auction to raise money for PAWS/LA.

PAWS/LA invited artists Ed Ruscha, David Hockney, Charles Arnoldi, Ross Bleckner, Robert Longo, and Kenny Scharf to recreate the dog bowl. Bonhams & Butterfields will be selling the bowls on November 23, 2010. The bowls have an estimated value of $2,500 to $3,500.

A good cause, a good idea. See more artists bowls below. (The bowl above is Charles Arnoldi).
