Disorienting Photography by Felix Kiessling

Juxtapoz // Monday, 31 Oct 2011

Felix Kiessling's photos can make you dizzy while they simultaneously draw you in with an illusion that seems to defy gravity. By careful placement of a straight, white form with a carefully cast shadow, the viewer's eye struggles to find balance. With the horizon shifted in odd, disorienting angles, Kiessling manages to use the deceiving white stick and its shadow to make the impossible feel possible, teasing one to search why or how this could even work.
