Die Antwoord Installation @ FIFTY24SF Gallery, San FranciscoJuxtapoz // Sunday, 19 Feb 2012
Fresh off an incredible music video directed by leading contemporary artist Roger Ballen, South African artists and musical group Die Antwoord will be having a one-night installation at San Francisco's Upper Playground/FIFTY24SF Gallery this Wednesday, February 22. The one-night installation will also see a presentation of Die Antwoord's new vinyl art piece, Evil Boy. The topic comes up again and again about the Die Antwoord; is this real? Is this performance art? With collaborations already done with Harmony Korine and Ballen, and a friendship with David Choe, you can definitely make the argument that the group has major appreciation and interest in working with leading visual artists.
Upper Playground writes, "This Wednesday, February 22 at 4PM, South African artists, Die Antwoord will be making a special appearance at Upper Playground’s San Francisco gallery, FIFTY24SF. The group will be presenting a special, one-night only installation to coincide with their tour stop in San Francisco in support of their newest LP, TEN$ION. In addition to the installation, Die Antwoord will be presenting and releasing a special collector’s vinyl sculpture of Evil Boy, made in collaboration with Good Smile Company. Select vinyl pieces will be hand-detailed on by Die Antwoord’s Ninja."
