Wednesday's Sacramento leg of the Sparks IGNITE WHAT'S NEXT art tour brought out some of the largest crowds we've seen yet. The cops made a special appearance at the day event held at FTC, thankfully leaving without incident. I hope they at least enjoyed the art while they were there! The evening event at R15 featured some rad giveaways including the grand prize - a Bianchi Pista fixed gear. From the California's Capitol it's on to the Bay Area Friday, September 14th for the opening celebration of Upper Playground's newest location in Berkeley (2509 Telegraph Avenue) and then an evening event at Radio in Oakland. Saturday's daytime event in San Francisco will be held at the Upper Playground on Fillmore St. at 3pm. For the evening, the art tour will be held at 111 Minna as part of Juxtapoz' Get Exposed event and will start at 10pm.
To celebrate Keith Haring's retrospective, "The Political Line," opening at the de Young Museum in San Francisco this Fall (November 8, 2014—February 16, 2015), we are proud to close our 20th anniversary year with a cover story on one of the most influential and popular artists ever. Keith Haring is part graffiti, street art, fine art, activist, futurist, environmentalist, and came on the scene with one of the most original styles the world has ever, and will ever see.
