Damon Johnson "Left For Dead" @ Bent Gallery, NYC

Juxtapoz // Thursday, 27 Oct 2011

Blending comic book art, Biggie Smalls lyrics, graffiti, Playboy centerfolds and more, Damon Johnson's urban surrealistic work distinctly reflects the manic energy of his native New York City. His new series of Sharpie-on-notebook drawings titled Left For Dead, as well as several of his large-scale acrylic and spray paint on canvas paintings, will be on display November 11-19 on the ground floor of 263 Bowery on the Lower East Side (which was notably designed by architect Karl Fischer, by the way).

This is Johnson's first exhibition with BENT, a mobile gallery based in Manhattan that presents shows in alternative spaces, and who throw a damn good party.
