John "CRASH" Matos, who we profiled in our new April 2011 Art In the Streets Issue, has a new solo show, Paintings With a Hidden Agenda, opening at Addict Galerie in Paris on March 25, 2011. It will be Crash's first exhibition in France in over a decade, featuring spray paint on canvas works.

Crash had stayed away from France for years because of the turn that graffiti had taken there, saying, " I did not want to exploit what was happening, I didn't want to be part of the craziness and I wanted to be taken serious."

As Crash is widely considered to be one of graffiti's turn pioneers of taking the street form into galleries, we think he is most definitely taken seriously. As REVOK notes in our April issue, "It's guys like Crash whom crossed the street and turned yet another key, and invited us to a new space. He gave us dignity and earned our respect in a world we learned only wanted to erase us and lock up our spirit"
