Converse Wall to Wall Hong Kong: IDT CrewJuxtapoz // Friday, 31 May 2013
This past week, Juxtapoz took a trip to Hong Kong to both celebrate the inaugural Art Basel Hong Kong art fair, as well as spend time with the Converse team and their curated guest list of artists for their Wall to Wall Hong Kong project. Over the past few years, Converse has worked with artists from around the world to create over twenty Wall to Wall projects throughout Europe and North America. For Hong Kong, Converse brought artists from Berlin, China, Brazil, and France to complete the project. Today, we look at the wall completed by the Shenzen-based IDT Crew.
The IDT Crew feature 3 artists: NAN, SINIC, and YYY. The crew had worked with Converse before, and collaborated on a wall that worked both as a message of positivity and a mural in the purest sense. While we watched them paint for a few hours, many passerbys stopped to watch the trio work in unison, often consulting each other about how the piece should evolve and change. The wall is currently at No.30 Tai Ping Shan Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.
