Conceptual Realism by Robert Williams Opens this SaturdayJuxtapoz // Monday, 26 Oct 2009
In case you’ve been living under a rock the past few weeks, you are already aware of the fact that our founder and luminary artist, Robert Williams, will unveil his new paintings and sculptures in a solo show this Saturday at New York City’s Tony Shafrazi Gallery. Our entire current November issue is dedicated to Robert Williams as well, featuring sneak previews of his latest works.
Conceptual Realism: In the Service of the Hypothetical will open its doors this Saturday, October 31st, 2009. The show will feature new paintings, drawings, and sculptures by Robert Williams.
Accompanying the show will be Conceptual Realism: In the Service of the Hypothetical, a catalog accompanying Robert Williams’ Fall 2009 solo exhibition. The show will continue on in 2010 to galleries in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, and elsewhere. The book features approximately 25 new paintings, complete with essays on each piece by the artist, insights into the process behind each painting (including sketches, underpaintings, etc.), and many other surprises, including an introduction by painter, tattoo artist and international tattoo cultural advocate Don Ed Hardy.
Conceptual Realism opens October 31, 2009, and will remain on view through January 23, 2010.
