We are longtime readers of Mother Jones, and we enjoyed this slideshow feature they had the other day, "What If Your Favorite Album Was A Book?" London-based graphic designer, Christophe Gowans, set up some great albums of recent and classic notoriety, and attached to them a thematic book cover.

We love how Gowans gave Pink Floyd an old Anthony Burgess cover vibe, and how Dylan got the pulp look. The Arcade Fire above looks like some sort of Salinger ode, the Beatles are DH Lawrence, and Prince's Purple Rain looks like some paraliterature, sci-fi goodness.

Check out the full Gowans archive here.
