Pulled: A Catalog of Screen Printing Book Review

Juxtapoz // Thursday, 10 Nov 2011

I was first introduced to Mike Perry a few years ago when we participated in a group exhibition together on Long Island, New York. After meeting Perry and hearing him talk about his work I couldn't imagine a better person better fit to compile a book about screen printing. Perry released Pulled: A Catalog of Screen Printing earlier this summer. If you're looking for some inspiration to finally roll up those sleeves and pull a squeegee or just need some new eye-candy for the coffee table this book is ideal. Pulled showcases some heavy-hitters in the design and art world, with the likes of Andy Muller and Maya Hayuk there is just no wrong direction.

In addition to its amazing and massive collection of screen prints, the book itself boasts an amazing Aesthetic. Leave it Mike Perry and fellow designer Emily CM Anderson to leave no detailed untouched, from hand writing every page number to uncoated stock this book is just impressive. Although Pulled is not a technical guide to screen printing by the time you reach the end you'll be flipping back through to find another set of favorite images.

Also to note, Pulled will be having a book release party and exhibition at This LA on Friday, November 11. Brent DCVII Gentile
