Blurry Night Paintings by Alexandra PaculaJuxtapoz // Thursday, 16 Feb 2012
We are sure some people have had actual nights like this where the city lights become a bit of a blur. Or quite blurry. Or plain spinning. We recommend if you have a bit of a soft stomach, than some of the beautiful works by Alexandra Pacula might throw you in a bit of a tailspin. She calls it "visual intoxication."
In her artist statement, Pacula says, "My work investigates a world of visual intoxication; it captures moments of enchantment, which are associated with urban nightlife. I am fascinated by the ambiance of the city at night and its seductive qualities. The breathtaking turbulence of speeding vehicles and hasty pedestrians evoke feelings of wonder and disorientation. The vibrant lights become a magical landscape with enticing opportunities and promises of fulfillment."
