Berlin's Turmkunst to be painted by Krink, SozyOne, Honet, and Flying Fortress

Juxtapoz // Monday, 05 Apr 2010

Curated by Christoph Tornow, Daniel Grau, and Benjamin Link, the Turmkunst (Art Tower) will get a facelift as April sees these four artists headed to Germany to paint part of the landmark 48 meter tall tower on the Schloßstraße in Steglitz, the center of Berlin.

Built in the mid 70s, the tower became known as the "Bierpinsel" (Beer Brush) after the opening event in 1976 where free beer was given to everyone who joined the public party.

For years the building was home to several restaurants offering panoramic views of Berlin. It is now being renovated and will reopen as a home for events and conventions.

Visit the monument in Berlin between April 1st and May 15th to see them at work, over 40m above ground or come any time after to see the finished piece of art. Should be a stunner.
