The result looks like an emblematic stamp that is perfectly fitting for each particular band. Read Back Talk with Jason Munn here.

How do you feel right now?

Real hot, as in tempurature.

If you could wake up in a different place tomorrow morning, where would it be and what would you do?

My friends recently got back from Japan and I was pretty jealous, I’ve never been, but I’m hoping to go soon.

If you lost your creative skill, how would you see yourself making a living?

I really wanted to be a postman when I was a kid, so maybe that. I had a paper route for a couple years when I was a kid, kind of a natural progression I guess.

If you could punch one living contemporary artist, who would it be?

I’m not taking the bait.

Was your first kiss worth writing a song about?

There’ve been many songs written about it.

At what point were you particularly happy?

The point where I realized I could make a go at doing the type of work I enjoyed doing, mainly the posters full time.

No regrets allowed, but there must have been one?

Not seeing Drive Like Jehu.

What trait do your friends have in common?

The Midwest.

If you had to evacuate your home or studio, what's the one thing you would grab?

From the studio I would probably grab the laptop and backup hard drive.

Greatest love of your life?

My family.

What is your favorite vice?

Movies. I love going to the movies, I feel truly relaxed.

When you blow out the birthday candles, what do you wish for?

To do the same next year.

If you could play a character from a favorite film or TV show for a day, who would it be?

Usually when I’m sick I watch a lot of TV or movies. The last time I was sick I watched all of the Freaks and Geeks episodes and would have real vivid dreams that I was on the show and would wake up thinking I was late for class. I’d be an extra on that show.

Do you ever lie?

Yes of course, not that I want to make a habit out of it.

Do you think viewers understand the intent of your work?

Most of my work is commissioned, so I would think so.

What virtue can you do without?

A strong work ethic.

Do you even notice when you're swearing?

If it’s not funny the first time say it louder and add some swear words.

What has been your proudest moment?

Honestly, I’m real happy when I think about the fact that over the past five years I’ve been able to create work for bands that I’ve listened to and that were a huge part of my life years before I started doing design work.

What would you like to be remembered for?

For not being able to answer questions cleverly enough, but for creating good work.

How would you prefer to die?

“To die by your side...”
