How do you feel right now?

I am super nervous, super stressed, and super excited about my upcoming show at Thinkspace Gallery April 9th!

 

If you could wake up in a different place tomorrow, where would it be and what would you do?

I would love to wake up in a tent in the Adirondacks and go hiking and kayaking for a week or two.

 

If you lost your creative skill, how would you make a living?

Well, if I lost my creative skills, I would probably not have much of a chance, need or desire to make a living…I think I would be a goner.

 

If you could punch one living contemporary artist, who would it be?

I beat myself up all the time... does that count?

 

Was your first kiss worth writing a song about?

I suck at kissing and I have always sucked as a songwriter... “no grace when sucking face” would have to be the title.

 

At what point were you particularly happy?

The day I found painting.

No regrets allowed, but there must have been one?

I sometimes give away things that have been very important to me.. For example, just the other day I thought fondly of my record collection that I gave to a few friends.

 

What trait do your friends have in common?

They all tolerate me.

 

If you had to evacuate your home/ studio, what's the one thing you would grab?

My dog.

 

Greatest love of your life?

My soon to be wife, Kym.

What is your favorite vice?

Painting.

 

When you blow out the birthday candles, what do you wish for?

I wish that my everyday weather was suitable for cycling.

 

If you could play a character from a favorite film or TV show for a day who would it be?

Toss up...Alan Partridge on I'm Alan Partridge or Larry David on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

 

Do you ever lie?

How did I answer the last time?

 

Do you think viewers understand the intent of your work?

I think that when people describe my work with the excitement and enthusiasm of their own experience then they understand my intent. I love when people speak genuinely.

What virtue can you do without?

Orderliness.

 

Do you even notice when you're swearing?

Yes, and I choose my words wisely.

 

What has been your proudest moment?

That moment continues to change every time I realize I have fulfillment in my life. I hope that only one moment won't define me.

What would you like to be remembered for?

I would like to be remembered as an artist, a friend, and a husband.

 

How would you prefer to die?

Something quick yet brutal, horror movie style!
