Last night, Nike invited Juxtapoz to check out their new pop-up space Pivot Point inside the new Barclay Center in downtown Brooklyn, home to the Brooklyn Nets. The occasion for the temporary space is to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Nike Air Force 1’s and this particular event was for the launch of the new Nike Air Force Bearbrick’s. Stepping into the space we were captivated by the uniquely designed displays, each well thought out and inspired by the original design elements of the Af1’s, as well as the new Nike Lunar Force 1. We especially enjoyed the backlit shoe displays that created an optical illusion of depth and the well-curated black and white street photographs. The space also offers Nike Bespoke; an appointment only experience allowing customers to customize their own Af1’s by choosing specific materials and colors. A bonus to our visit, an invitation to go upstairs and watch the Brooklyn Nets play the Utah Jazz from the Nike Suite!
