Notebook Drawings by BLU

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, March 21, 2012
We were checking BLU's website last night after finishing a little project with FAME Festival, and noticed he had updated his site with new notebook drawings. Because we are used to seeing BLU's drawings becoming multi-storied political commentary pieces, seeing his work on this scale is a great reminder of how talented the Italian artist is.

Coffee Stain Portrait by RED

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, March 21, 2012
Some people drink coffee and despise a coffee stain, but for artist RED, she has taken the concept of a coffee stain to a whole new level. She has taken hundreds of individual coffee stain rings, "many of them broken and imperfect like fallen autumn leaves," to form a whole portrait. The results, and video, are quite amazing.

The Work of Adrien Patout

Erotica // Wednesday, March 21, 2012
Adrien Patout is an artist currently living and working in Paris. His work is heavily influenced by the fleshy paintings of Philippe Pasqua and Jenny Saville, with Patout choosing himself to focus on the human body and people's relationship to it, such as with piercings, tattoos, cosmetic surgery, etc. The self-taught painter explores how the body, as a medium, bridges the gap between our inner feelings and the outside world.

Photos from The Creators Project: San Francisco

Juxtapoz // Tuesday, March 20, 2012
Over a foggy wet weekend, we took our bikes out to Fort Mason to attend Vice and Intel’s collaborative creative endeavor, The Creators Project.  We would be lying if we said our main reason to check out the event wasn’t bands like the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Squarepusher, both rarely making appearances on the West Coast.  However, accompanying the wide range of renowned music performers was a variety of artist talks, panel discussions, hands-on workshops and interactive art installations.
