Paul can be credited with the first color painting of a space station and illustrated H.G. Wells' The War of the Worlds for Amazing Stories magazine, the first magazine dedicated to science fiction...

On May 8, 1920, one of the most iconic and influential graphic designers, Saul Bass, was born. Every year, we like to honor Bass by remembering just how amazing and influential his work was, from film posters and opening sequences to famous films. Bass did work for seminal films like Psycho, North By Northwest, Vertigo, Anatomy of a Murder, West Side Story, Cape Fear, Goodfellas, Casino, and many more. Steven Harrington and our friends at the Ace Hotel in downtown Los Angeles are kicking off a special monthly collaboration this summer, starting on May 16th. Here is what Steven told us: "I'm starting my DJ residency once a month for the entire season of summer at their rooftop bar. To commemorate the collaboration we're releasing a very special 'metallic gold' screenprint created in edition of 100. Signed and numbered, the prints will be available exclusively on the rooftop of the ACE on my first DJ night- May 16th 9PM." We might do that.

Paul Kasmin Gallery is pleased to announce Watercolors, an exhibition of new paintings by Walton Ford through June 21, 2014 at 293 Tenth Avenue, New York. Ford continues to explore the visual and narrative scope of traditional natural history painting with his monumental watercolors, chronicling encounters between human culture and the natural world. Several pieces in this exhibition will expand upon Ford's longstanding practice of incorporating written marginalia in his work, and feature for the first time musings penned by the artist from the perspective of his animal subjects.
