More Surreal Scenes from Igor Morski

Juxtapoz // Thursday, July 05, 2012
We showed you a great grouping from Polish surreal illustrator and digital artist, Igor Morski, last week, and we came across this fantastic image this morning and wanted to go into his more even more in depth. There isn't much else to say; in terms of creating surreal, imaginative universes, Igor is one of our favorites.

Molly Rose Dyson and Fiona Waters' Small Goods

Juxtapoz // Thursday, July 05, 2012
Molly Rose Dyson collaborated with Fiona Waters to create this strange and fantastic series of drawings titled "Small Goods". The subjects within the drawings are recognizable yet nonsensical. Some look like a cross breeding of meat and fruit.

Happy 4th of July!

Graffiti // Wednesday, July 04, 2012
In honor of the 4th of July we bring back this classic Sane American flag piece.  We hope your day is filled with at least one of the following; fireworks, more fireworks, lots of fireworks, too much fireworks, parades, barbecues, carnivals, fairs, picnics, concerts, baseball games, family reunions, and tons-o-fun!

Land of the Free

Tattoo // Wednesday, July 04, 2012
O say can you see by the dawn's early light, What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming, Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there; O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave, O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave.... Happy 4th!!

Happy Flag Day!

Street Art // Wednesday, July 04, 2012
One of our nation's most widely recognized symbols is our American flag, aka "Stars and Stripes.”  Saber has painted a fair amount of them and made a video containing the flag that caused a significant amount of controversy.  We respect Saber’s intent with this particular body of work and feel they are more than appropriate for todays date.  Happy 4th of July!

Hanging Out With Dr. Lakra in Mexico City

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, July 04, 2012
Jeronimo Lopez Ramirez, better known as Dr. Lakra (cover artist in August 2010), is a tattoo artist and illustrator who lives in the city of Oaxaca, Mexico, and occasionally can be found tattooing in different studios in Mexico City. Last week our colleagues at Juxtapoz Latin America had the opportunity to see the process when tattooing a piece of a gypsy with lyrics that read "SinYolanda." We love it.

Bored: Monopoly on the Streets of Chicago

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, July 04, 2012
First off, a street and or public artist named Bored is quite good, and second, we continue the search for good 4th of July content with this wonderful street project of putting Monopoly on the streets of Chicago. Chance cards, property, and dice were placed around town by Bored, turning the streets into a little game, if they weren't already.

The Work of Marc Trujillo

Juxtapoz // Wednesday, July 04, 2012
Nothing says Americana and 4th of July like a good painting of a KFC and a stereotypical mall scene. Marc Trujillo's paintings are exactly what we wanted to find this morning; well-rendered scenes of banal "anywhere America"; the fast food stops, the malls, the parking lots that are truly the fascinating and all-encompassing shared experiences that we as Americans can relate to. Brilliant work.
